This residential mixed-use development occupies a landmark site identified by the Land and Housing Corporation, the client for the project. Positioned within an established urban setting, the development was designed to strengthen the existing sense of community while responding to the evolving residential, social, and cultural needs of the town.
The project involved extensive collaboration throughout the design and development process, including close consultation with local council, specialist consultants, and the client to ensure all planning and development objectives were successfully achieved. Particular emphasis was placed on creating a design that was both practical and visually sympathetic to the surrounding streetscape, while also addressing the demands of the city’s growing population.
The development delivers a diverse mix of apartment layouts to support a range of living requirements, including eight one-bedroom apartments, two two-bedroom apartments, and a fully adaptable ground-floor unit designed to provide accessible living solutions.
The result is a contemporary, community-focused development that balances functionality, accessibility, and architectural sensitivity within a prominent urban location.
“GPG Architecture always got in touch and collaborated with other consultants before reviewing and providing knowledgeable responses to queries raised. They dealt with non-conformances and any on-site design issues in a clear and decisive manner and provided enough time to resolve any issues in a cooperative manner such they never resulted in conflict. The Architectural consultant’s performance against the client performance criteria was more than acceptable. I have no hesitation in recommending this Architect for future LAHC Projects. “ - Chris: Project Manager
