A cantilevered minimalist home set in the Wagga Wagga countryside

Set on acreage outside Wagga Wagga, this elegant, minimalist home embraces a restrained architectural expression while making a bold structural statement. Designed with a deliberate small footprint, the residence utilises a striking cantilevered form, allowing for increased upper-floor space without compromising the natural landscape.

Materiality plays a crucial role in integrating the home with its surroundings. Polished concrete floors with exposed natural aggregates provide a tactile connection to the earth, while golden plywood cladding and weathered timber decking introduce warmth and texture. Expanses of floor-to-ceiling glass doors dissolve the boundary between interior and exterior, enhancing the home’s relationship with the landscape and maximising natural light.

This project is a refined balance of efficiency, material honesty, and contemporary rural living. Special thanks to Jackie Cooper from Jack of Hearts Studios for the portfolio photography.

I loved working with GPG, it was very easy and a great overall experience…Gioia’s expertise shone through in refining my ideas and enhancing the use and feel of the space. Attention to detail during the design phase saved time and money during construction. I have recommended GPG to several people.
