A cantilevered minimalist home set in the Wagga Wagga countryside

Set on acreage just outside Wagga Wagga, this elegant minimalist residence embraces a restrained architectural expression while making a bold structural statement. Designed with a deliberately compact footprint, the home utilises a striking cantilevered form to maximise upper-level living space while minimising impact on the surrounding landscape.

Materiality plays a central role in grounding the home within its rural setting. Polished concrete floors with exposed natural aggregates create a tactile connection to the earth, while golden plywood linings and weathered timber decking introduce warmth, texture, and a sense of understated refinement. Expansive floor-to-ceiling glass doors dissolve the boundary between inside and out, enhancing the home’s connection to the landscape while flooding the interiors with natural light.

The result is a carefully resolved balance of efficiency, material honesty, and contemporary rural living — a home that feels both striking and deeply connected to its environment.

“I loved working with GPG, it was very easy and a great overall experience…Gioia's expertise shone through in refining my ideas and enhancing the use and feel of the space. Attention to detail during the design phase saved time and money during construction. I have recommended GPG to several people.” - Paul: Client
