Stunning update in the transitional style aesthetic
Our role as architect for this recently completed additions and alterations project was to increase functionality of the layout and enhance the flow between living and outdoor spaces. This was achieved by updating a traditional 1980s floor plan to contemporary open plan. Specifically, we retained the original footprint, reconfigured the existing layout and designed a new parallel wing with courtyard and pergola framing the verandas, to sympathetically link the new addition and the existing house.
The stunning new kitchen has an interesting mix of unique and timeless beauty, achieved through the use of blond grained timber, heavily veined marble and black framed joinery, fittings and fixtures. There is no doubt the kitchen has truly become the heart of the home. Large expanses of folding glass doors open from the dining area onto an over sized alfresco, to create a seamless connection between the indoors and outdoors, further emphasising a modern lay out. A new master bedroom with spacious walk in robe and ensuite was included in the addition. Furthermore, the inclusion of the three car garage offers flexibility in parking with ample storage options.
Balding Constructions did a terrific job undertaking the renovation. Our team collaborated with the talented team at Stjohn Axbey Design to update the interiors, to create a truly beautiful home.
Since construction, landscaping has been completed and furniture selected, along with styling undertaken. Thank you to Grant Higginson of Cut Above Productions of the wonderful photos of this project.
