Kildare Ave, Additions and Alterations

From the very first briefing meeting with the client, the direction for this project was to create an outdoor room that was loosely structured with casual seating opportunities and a central dining area. The deck is beautifully constructed from hardwood timber which is warm and inviting, providing an idyllic spot to entertain or relax. The steel framed pergola rises boldly from the deck and is patiently awaiting the stunning passionfruit vines that are training up and around the wire balustrading. The ornamental climbers will give much welcomed shade to the western oriented deck area. Our landscape architect, Erica’s influence on many of our schemes is apparent here through the introduction of natural elements for screening and shading. The deck gracefully steps down through a series of platforms that transition into a gorgeous garden setting, consisting of plantings and areas with a mix of bluestone and recycled red brick pavers. Overall, the outdoor area lends itself to an easy and breezy liveability, and combined with its ornamental plantings has a distinctively European charm. A feel that is reminiscent of the owners childhood in her native France. A special mention to Alex Schoonmaker of Connecticut Carpentry for delivering a quality project, second to none.
