Supporting Wagga Wagga Christian College SUBS in Schools Team

“GPG, together with Mark Golden and Associates, are Gold Sponsors for the 2021 Wagga Wagga Christian College’s SUBS in Schools team (‘The Kraken’). This secondary school STEM challenge organised by REA (Re-Engineering Australia Foundation) is a fantastic opportunity for the students to grow in their knowledge and understanding of all things STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths). Currently the team of four students from Years 8 – 11 are working together towards competing in the State Finals. Ellie and Sarah are designing, engineering and testing a ROV (remotely operated underwater vehicle).

Our wonderful  graphic designer Jake has been working on a trade display design and uniform and Amy manages sponsorship and mentorship. Throughout this process the students develop a wide range of skills from design, engineering and manufacturing, underwater design, coding and electronics, to the ‘soft skills’ of project management, teamwork, collaboration, problem solving, communication, and industry collaboration. The competition helps create future leaders in the STEM industries and equip them with skills and creativity.

The Kraken team would like to thank GPG Architecture and Design and Mark G Golden Associates for their wonderful support this year. It has really enabled our team to make the most of our opportunities and learning, we can’t wait to represent our school and sponsors in the coming months.
