Located on the site of the former Home Hotel, we introduce The Lancaster. This apartment design has been a collaborative effort driven by a remarkable brief and a consultant team with local presence. Retaining the heritage appeal of the existing building, the ground floor will have retail businesses with contemporary style residential apartments above. The Lancaster will continue to build on the lifestyle village of the Fitzmaurice Street areas by further adding vibrancy and life to the precinct. We recently lodged this development application proposal with Wagga Wagga City Council and our team is pleased to play such a critical role in shaping the future of this key part of the CBD.

The Lancaster’s history:
In October 1874 Daniel Boon obtained the licence for the Home Hotel on the corner of Fitzmaurice St and Kincaid St. However, in April 1876 Rebecca Lancaster (nee Boon) was awarded the license for the Hotel after her husband was found guilty of murder. Daniel Boon decided in a drunken state to walk from the Hotel to North Wagga with a double-barrelled shotgun to confront a man over unpaid rent. When he confronted the man an argument ensued however, the Mr Boon did not see reason and shot the unarmed man who died a few days later. Over the next seven years Mrs Lancaster continued as the licensee on and off yet the Hotel seemed to always to return to her when others were not successful. It is with this theme of returning home that The Lancaster is proposing to build a new home in an historic location.
