Wollundry Wood Crafts – Feature Artisan
Recently Gioia was invited to visit local cabinetmaker, Andrew Blake at his workshop in North Wagga Wagga. The scent of fresh timber permeated the air of the workshop, whilst furniture in various stages of production lay amongst the woodworking machinery and tools.
Andrew is an artisan by trade and his business Wollundry Wood Crafts provides custom made timber furniture products to meet their client’s needs. He is also one of the more knowledgeable Osmo Oil & Liberon Furniture Products distributors in the Riverina.
Andrew has pursued woodworking avidly as a hobby for many years and officialised his passion by studying cabinet making at Lidcombe TAFE in 2015. He has been involved in many creative projects to date, several of which have been showcased on his website.
His services include: Furniture design using AutoCAD software, commissions taken for furniture in timber and/or veneer board, consignment furniture made in timber and/or veneer board, and joinery and furniture repairs. Andrew has over the years invested in several woodworking machines that enable him to produce a wide range of different furniture items with accuracy and precision.
Andrew discussed the merits of using Osmo wood finishes on timber products and explained that good quality often has a greater initial price tag but will have less ongoing maintenance and costs. So if you have a bespoke furniture piece in mind or perhaps just want to chat about a solution to your woodworking needs, then give Andrew a call. His friendly manner, expertise and suggestions will be helpful, interesting and full of inspiration!
