Bringing another homestead to its former glory, plus more!
We are thrilled to be part of bringing another homestead to its former glory plus more! The century old homestead with magnificent views of rolling hills and the Murrumbidgee river is located near Wantabadgery on a pastoral property. The homestead is currently in its original state. Some of its most celebrated features include the coloured lead light side panels of the main entry, the detailed main foyer arch way, multiple fireplaces, high ceilings and wrap around verandahs.
We have been guided by the client to retain the original homestead footprint and to design an aesthetically beautiful, yet highly functional, sympathetic addition. To enhance livability, the owners have opted for an open plan style of kitchen, dining and living space. Being a well appointed kitchen on a rural property, an important inclusion is a spacious walk in pantry and cool room, providing ample space for supplies, with sometimes long stretches between grocery shops! The beautifully designed new areas boast raked ceilings, exposed beams and skylights to create bright, light and airy spaces, adding a lovely, fresh, modern feel.
An integral part of the addition, is the extensive raised deck area flowing from the kitchen providing a seamless indoor/outdoor connection for entertaining and outdoor living, ideally oriented to the north east. Drawing from inspiration of the original homestead, we have designed generous wrap around verandahs and glazed corridors for the addition to sympathetically connect the original homestead.
After thorough consideration at the conceptual design stage we are looking forward to see this project progress from the drawing board to construction.
