Spotlight: Breathing new life into the Coolamon Hotel
We’re proud to share our recent collaboration with Future Flip — the restoration of the Coolamon Hotel.
After a five-year journey, the beloved venue has reopened, revitalised with three distinct bars, a glasshouse dining room, and a sunlit terrace — all while preserving its heritage heart.
Our architectural approach was grounded in sensitivity and respect. We reinforced the original verandah, restored pressed-metal ceilings, and wove new elements like the glasshouse and cocktail bar seamlessly into the building’s historic fabric.
This project was far more than a renovation — it was a labour of love. The new owners, deeply connected to Coolamon, took on the challenge to honour what the hotel means to the town. Our role was to translate that emotional investment into a place that celebrates history, embraces modern standards, and welcomes new stories to unfold.
Key features include:
Glasshouse dining area: A luminous, climate-responsive space that blurs indoor and outdoor boundaries, perfect for year-round dining and events.
Terrace and dining experience: Strengthens the hotel’s connection to town life, offering beautiful views and elegant hospitality.
Three reimagined bars: Including a long-room cocktail bar that redefines how locals and visitors connect within the hotel’s heritage setting.
Refined accommodation: Four ensuite rooms transformed from shared amenities into comfortable, character-filled retreats.

“It’s been a privilege to work alongside you your team and collaborative approach made all the difference in bringing this project to life. From start to finish, your leadership and design guidance helped shape a result we’re all incredibly proud of and to Craig, Megan, and yourself that turned this ambitious idea into a legacy for the Coolamon community. We couldn’t be more honoured and greatful to have been part of it.
We’re proud of what’s been built, but even more grateful for the relationships and trust that have grown along the way. Thank you again for the opportunity and for being such a great partner throughout the journey.
We are all keen and ready to go again if you need anything else built.”
