Stunning Contemporary Family House Located at Griffith
Set on a steep block in the heart of Griffith, the Waugh Street Residence is designed to work with the land, not against it. The home steps naturally with the slope, creating a strong connection to its surroundings while feeling balanced and light.
The exterior features clean lines and a simple mix of materials — white render, dark cladding, and textured stone. This creates a confident street presence softened by lush landscaping and greenery.
Large windows bring in natural light and frame views, while shifting shadows give the home a dynamic look throughout the day. The design focuses on simplicity and clarity, both in form and function.
Inside, the spaces feel warm and open. Natural oak floors and vertical timber details add texture against crisp white walls, creating a calm, timeless feel.
The entry is light-filled and spacious, leading to a sculptural oak and glass staircase that connects the levels and allows light to flow through the home.
Every detail — from material choices to how spaces connect — was thoughtfully considered to create a cohesive, lasting design. The interior carries the same sense of precision and simplicity as the architecture.
Built in close collaboration with Ryan Colpo and our clients, this project is a reflection of shared trust, vision, and craftsmanship.

“We’re really happy with how the house ended up, it has the right balance with separation of spaces but still connected through it’s light filled and open core. I think we mentioned along the way that we ended up a lot further down the contemporary road than we ever thought we would at the start. Glad we listened to your input as you steered us through the options as we love the overall look and feel of the home.”
