Riverside Wagga Wagga

The brief for this recently approved project was to create a sustainable living environment that enhanced the aesthetics and amenities of the central business precinct of Wagga Wagga.  By incorporating commercial facilities within the ground level of the building we created a practical solution for the expectations of the city’s increasing population.

Through extensive collaboration with local council, urban, planning and heritage consultations the heritage elements of the precinct are retained and enhanced, providing a positive contribution to the residential, social and cultural fabric of the town. The building will further strengthen the contribution of the Riverside Master Plan precinct with its northern frontage that connects to the Wiradjuri walking track and Murrumbidgee River.

Our design juxtaposes historical features of the precinct at podium level and incorporates two major built forms that reflect the current needs and design trends of Wagga Wagga. To improve the sense of community and practicality of the building adequate car parking, communal open space and a shared landscaped area as well as a meeting room on the podium level was incorporated into the design. In addition there is three commercial tenancies at the ground floor followed by a variety of apartments comprising of one, two and three bedroom layouts to cater for a range of living requirements.
