Contemporary barn style addition, is sympathetic to the existing 1930s homestead
Construction is underway on a significant alterations and additions project located on a rural property south of Wagga Wagga. The owner's brief is to increase function and livability through scaling up the footprint to suit the needs of a family consisting of young children. Interestingly, the contemporary barn style addition, is sympathetic to the existing 1930s homestead, given the matching roof pitch and high ceilings of the existing homestead and the addition. Furthermore, pergolas in the same style will be constructed off the existing homestead and additions. The exterior walls of the addition will be constructed from Hebel panels, further promoting a cohesive aesthetic of old and the new.
The addition extends directly from the existing kitchen. A butler's pantry will be added to the existing kitchen. The addition consists of living/dining space, foyer, master bedroom and ensuite, laundry, bathroom, guest bedroom and double garage.
The appointed builder is Balding Constructions.
